Figurative Sculpture Commissions

About image
I eat, sleep and breathe figurative sculpture, this is my life, I am a sculptor.

Having always created sculpture figures in the sand as a child, it has been my calling to follow and continue a sculptural path ever since....I am fascinated by the human figure, the inspiration behind all my work derives from the uniqueness of the human form, its incredible power, complexity and versatility to express and elevate a multitude of emotions upon the viewer.

I followed my calling and gained my BA fine art sculpture degree in 2003... having spent subsequent years honing my craft with an embodiment of figurative work that delves into a 3d world of limitless possibilities, I aim to portray our intimate human expressions through the power of figurative sculpture.

With a background in construction and working with a variety of materials and processes, I familiarised myself early on with a variety of materials and processes to produce smaller sculpture. With bronze and stone way out of my price range, my primary material of choice became recycled materials and objects, with plastic top of the list. I became facinated with the way that disgarded plastics and styrofoam could be salvaged, manipulated, shaped and carved to produce a durable eco-friendly sculpture.

I continue to push the boundaries using all types of recycled materials and also sculpt with bronze, plaster, resin, concrete, wood, glass, metals and fiberglass, dependant upon the individual requirements of the projects direction. I regularly collaborate with engineering workshops and casting foundries, utilising their technical assistance and manufacturing expertise to take each project to its potential.

My working practice has now progressed towards sculpting on a large scale, I still consider myself an eco-sculptor, more passionate than ever to continue to utilise and recycle all of the waste material that can be transformed into sculpture and with each new project providing a further compelling background story which stimulates my creativity and pushes my artistic boundaries

I am a mobile creative workshop, I travel where ever my art is guided to and take a personal hands-on approach with all of my Sculptural projects.

I have dedicated myself to figurative sculpture for over 20 years, with a drive and passion to create a dynamic variety of work attaining realistic qualities and copious amounts of intricate detailing applied to each work.

An insight into a visionary Sculptor, producing uniquely detailed and realistic captivating dynamic figurative public sculptures to enhance public spaces. Versatile site-specific sculpture to inspire and entertain, using exceptional creativity, imaginative approaches and methodology.

My work explores the responsiveness between the dynamism of the human figure and form, to entice and provide a compelling and symbolic visual and physical interaction with illusionary tactile qualities.
I utilise my creativity, inspiration, knowledge and extensive sculpting experience, to create a sophisticated sculptural form which possesses realism and elements of surrealism for sensory enhancement.

I aim to challenge our common perceptions of how objects should look and feel, by transforming an idea into a sculpture which evokes a feeling and a work of visual distinction and beauty.

Commissions
I create bespoke commissioned sculpture. I offer a personal and professional service with added care and attention to your specific requirements with consultations to deliver a unique, awe inspiring, tailor-made artwork.

I develop your idea or concept into a tangible 3D form, creating sketches, designs and clay maquettes with intricate detailing, proportion and aesthetical likeness....the figure can be made to any size dimension in Glass Fibre, Stone, Plaster, Bronze Resin or cast into Bronze with a striking array of patination surface finishes , which are rich in colour and durable to all weather conditions and climates.

Refining the surface texture of a sculpture will accentuate the reflection of changing light and cast shadows, which imprint upon it, to achieve aesthetical perfection and ultimately transforming and elevating the figure as the main focal point in a space, complimented by its surroundings.

I have exhibited various Collections of my work since 2000.
